Daily Ramblings

A set of daily entires I will make anything from politics to crap I see on the street.
  • T'was the night before elections....

    *'Twas the night before elections*
    *And all through the town*
    *Tempers were flaring*
    *Emotions all up and down!*
    **
    *I, in my bathrobe*
*With a dog in my lap*
    *Had cut off the TV*
    *Tired of political crap.*
    **
    *When all of a sudden*
    *There arose such a noise*
*I peered out of my window*
*And saw Obama and his boys*
    **
*They had come for my wallet*
    *They wanted my pay*
*To give it to the others*
*Who had not worked a day!*
    **
    *He snatched up my money*
    *And quick as a flash*
    *Jumped back on his bandwagon*
    *With all of my stash*
    **
    *He then rallied his henchmen*
    *Who were pulling his cart*
*I could tell they were out*
    *To tear my country apart!*
    **
    *'On Fannie, on Freddie, *
    *On Biden and Ayers!*
    *On Acorn, On Pelosi'*
    *He screamed at the pairs!*
    **
*They took off for his cause*
*And as he flew out of sight*
*I heard him laugh at the nation*
*That wouldn't stand up and fight!*
    **
*So I leave you to think*
    *On this one final note-*
    *IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM*
    *GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!*

  • It's the Veteran

'It's the Veteran, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.'
'It's the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.'
'It's the Veteran, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.'
'It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester
    to burn the flag.'

  • OBAMA cancels interviews with media not PRO-OBAMA

Don’t you think that the media (especially those that aren’t drinking the Obama Cool-Aid) should be able to ask questions that people want answered? Not according to Obama. He feels the media isn’t ALLOWED to ask tuff questions:

    http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/25/obama-campaign-cuts-interviews-florida-tv-station/

Nice huh? He gets asked tuff questions and he ‘CANCELS’ remaining interviews. This is the man that might be our next president. What next? If he visits the world and they ask tuff questions he’s not going to visit that country any longer? This man is NOT ready to lead…PERIOD!!

  • Something To Think About (and items most voters do not know)

    SOMETHING TO REALLY THINK ABOUT

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then
    Campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are
Against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and
High taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations.
    The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court
Justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally,
Morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague
    This country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was
Created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty
To provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central
    Bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They
Have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a
Congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing.

I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The
Politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist
Promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what
They did is not their fault.

They cooperate in this common con regardless of party!

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount
Of gall. For instance, no 'normal human being' would have the gall of any
Speaker of The House to stand up and criticize a current President for
Creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot
Force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole
Responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving
Appropriations and taxes. Who is the Speaker of the House? The leader of the
Majority party. He/She and fellow House Members, not the President, can
Approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it
Over his veto if they agree to do so.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace
545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and
    Irresponsibility.

I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to
Those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people
Exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what
Exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they made it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they put it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they put them in IRAQ .

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan
Not available to the people, it's because they want it that way (and believe
    Me, they do!).

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire
And whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they
Can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from
Whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the
Belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like 'the economy,'
'inflation,' or 'politics' that prevent them from doing what they take an
    Oath to do

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their
Bosses provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

Why don't we just vote ALL of them out of office and clean up their mess!

What you do with this article now that you have read it is up to you, though
You appear to have several choices.

    1. You can send this to others, and hope' they' do something about it.

    2. You can agree to 'vote against' everyone that is currently in office,
Knowing that the process will take several years.

    3. You can decide to 'run for office' yourself and agree to do the job
    Properly.

    4. Lastly, you can sit back and do nothing, or re-elect the current bunch.

YOU DECIDE, BUT AT LEAST SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND SHARE THIS INTERESTING ANALYSIS
OF OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM WITH THEM. SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE.

  • Obama Voting Records

I've looked through Senator Obama's voting records and this is what I found. He says one thing but does another. These are also examples of his extremely Liberal voting record. Do YOU want this person running the country?

  • Afghanistan, Iraq, and the UN

I've come up with a conclusion. Al-Queda is very smartly working two sides of the coin. While the US is in Iraq and has fought off insurgency, they are doing the same exact thing in Afghanistan forcing our leaders to attempt the same tactics that were successful in Iraq in to Afghanistan. A new SURGE! While we are fighting that line, Al-Queda will move back in to Iraq causing a back and forth causing more pressures on leaders in the US and making us look foolish. Our leaders need to see what Al-Queda is doing. While we run to shore up Afghanistan they are going to, with the help of Iran, move back in to Iraq. Look I've always said we can't fight a war on two fronts without help and help we are not getting.

My question is this: Where is the rest of the world and their involvement in Afghanistan? The UN claims to support the effort in Afghanistan but not Iraq so why aren't the rest of the UN countries helping us out? They left us hanging and I think we as a NATION need to remember that. While we bail out the rest of the world and the one time we ask the World to stand by us....they turn their backs.

Everyone speaks a good 'UNIFIED WORLDLY PEOPLE' game but how quickly they are to leave America, and it's money, out of that conversation. The UN doesn't get most of it's money from the world they get it from Americans in the NAME of the UN.

  • Bailout - My 2 cents

I believe in the Free Market and this collapse is a direct result of government intervention.  This is what happens when the federal government thinks it knows better then the free market and this is the result.

I say let these companies fail because the market will work itself out. Once again, the government is stepping in and this bailout is going to be a complete failure just like the intervention. When the smoke clears, nothing will change and the taxpayers are going to be on the hook for $700 Billion dollars.

Of course, the Democrats LOVE this because now they can say that the Free Market doesn't work and now have ammunition for class warfare. This country is doomed for decades to come and the next generation is going to be pissed off because they will have to foot the bill with higher taxes.

  • 2008 Wall Street Bailout Revision 1

If you are like I am, unhappy about bailing out Wall Street, you can take a look at the first draft of the proposal here.

  • McCain tried to stop this Wall Street failure..

John McCain was one of the 3 co-sponsors to S190. A bill that would have saved America from this headache.

Below is part of McCain's speech in 2005 on the Senate floor. Too bad, they did not listen to him.

"For years I have been concerned about the regulatory structure that governs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac--known as Government-sponsored entities or GSEs--and the sheer magnitude of these companies and the role they play in the housing market."

"I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole."

McCain wasn't part of the problem but actually tried to avoid it but was not listened to. McCain/Palin are for the people!

  • Ohio State Football

Wow! Ohio State looks like garbage. I'm sitting here watching the OSU vs USC game and my doubts about how good OSU is has been confirmed. After squeaking by Ohio last week this team cannot stand up to Top Tier NCAA football programs. Take last years loss to LSU in the Sugar Bowl and 2006's loss to Florida in the Fiesta Bowl. When you play a weak schedule and your only decent competition is Michigan this is what you get!

    GO GATORS!

  • Home Internet Connection

You have to love these types of speeds at home:

  • OIL Companies SEC Filings

So I was going through some of the SEC filings of one of the largest oil companies on the planet, Exxon Mobile, and I found something very interesting.

Over the last 3 years their effective income tax rates average 44% for 2007, 43% for 2006, and 41% for 2005 and the Democrats want to apply windfall profits taxes on these companies? Holy CRAP!

If you want the link here it is:

    http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/34088/000119312508041781/d10k.htm

Just do a search for "Effective income tax rate" on the page.

  • 50MB Fiber Connection Speeds

Ya have to love Fiber connections...don't let the upload speed fool you...we had some testing going on.

  • Gas Prices

So I've been watching the price of a barrel of oil recently and I've noticed that when a barrel of oil was at $100 back in April the price at the pump was $3.17 for regular gas but now that it's back at $100 the pump is STILL $0.40 more.

I know, the price at the pump has a natural delay built in to it but NOT $0.40. When the price of gas was quickly dropping below its $145/barrel high the price at the pump immediately dropped.

    SO what is the deal?

  • Democrats claiming horrible Bush years? I think not

The Wall Street Journal posted an article showing the statistics of the economy under the Bush Administration. Read the article and ask yourself: where does the Democratic Party get it's information from? Apparently out of THIN AIR:
