Autumn Winter 2016 Campaign

The latest Christopher Kane campaign film emphasises the unconventional beauty and spirit of the brand. Expanding on the ideas of the Autumn-Winter 16-17 collection ‘Lost and Found,’ the film ventures further into the world of the alluring hoarder. Here, the detritus of glamour that makes up her environment is focused on; the debris of accessories, boxes, tissue paper and trinkets. The film stars the model and musician Jamie Bochert and is shot by the photographer Alasdair McLellan. It is an unhinged domesticity that is evoked, with a nod to classic fly-on-the-wall documentaries – a particular obsession of Christopher Kane’s – where the ordinary is truly revealed to be extraordinary. 1974’s ‘The Family’, shown originally on BBC television and seen as the precursor to reality television, might be viewed as an especially British touchstone. It is the theme music of the TV series that is also the theme music of the campaign. The track is by Mr. Brooks and is, unsurprisingly, called ‘The Family.’ It can be found on the compilation ‘Gather In The Mushrooms: The British Acid Folk Underground 1968-1974.’
